I’m Vanessa, and this blog is vaguely tracking my attempts at self-improvement, with some other stuff thrown in. I also run a blog about color and style analysis called Style Syntax, but I wanted a place to blog about things that have nothing to do with that particular topic.
The name comes from E.B. White, who wrote a column for Harper’s in the 1940s called One’s Man Meat, and the columns were later collected in a book, which you can read online for free. It has no real connection or significance to the purpose to the blog except that he is my favorite essayist. Funnily enough, I’ve never been all that into his children’s books. Anyway, if all you know of his work is Charlotte’s Web, check out his essays and prepared to blown away by how much he is able to do with the English language.
